Mirepoix (prounounced Meer Pwah) is a classic french term for a blend of aromatic vegetables. It is used as the foundation for almost all classic soups. The traditional blend is carrots, onions and celery, but in different cultures a soup base can be composed of different vegetables. Back to what this blog is about: to provide a foundation for being a chef. I want to show that kids can make and eat more than hamburgers and mac n cheese. I am a 12 year old extreme foodie and cook. I personally hate sitting down at a restaurant and receiving the kids menu. I will provide recipes for the junior chef who wants to cook and bake for real. Instead of just stirring for your mother or cooking using a mix, you can take hold of the knife (with permission of course) and make a gourmet meal for your family. Please Enjoy!
